HEDONOMETRIBE Subcortex

P—02 / Research system / experimental

From stimulus
to predicted response.

TRIBE Subcortex is an experimental research workflow built around TRIBE v2 for inspecting video driven cortical predictions and seven subcortical regions. Its central question is temporal: how do modeled response patterns change as a stimulus unfolds?

RESEARCH BOUNDARY

Predicted, not measured.

This workflow estimates brain response from a model. It does not record a person's activity, identify a mental state, or directly measure a neurotransmitter.

01 / METHOD

Trace the
prediction path.

One stimulus, two prediction views, and a shared time axis. This diagram shows the workflow, not the outcome of a run.

01 / INPUT

A video establishes time.

The local stimulus is prepared as a sequence of model events. Every later view refers back to this common temporal axis.

02 / MODEL

TRIBE predicts a response.

Cortical surface and experimental subcortical predictions are generated from the stimulus. They are modeled signals, not a recording from the viewer.

03 / REGIONS

Two views resolve into regions.

The cortical view stays alongside the experimental subcortical view. In the latter, predicted voxels are grouped by seven anatomical ROI masks, each yielding a mean absolute activity series.

04 / TIMELINE

Patterns return to the event.

Regional series and composite proxies can be compared across chosen windows and inspected for peak timing.

Seven regions.
A closer look.

Select a region to explore its location, anatomical context and place in the analysis. Each prediction channel refers back to the same stimulus timeline.

Accumbens

Location
At the ventral meeting point of the caudate and putamen, toward the front and base of the striatum.
Anatomical context
Part of the ventral striatum, involved in motivation, reinforcement and reward-related learning.
In the analysis
Follow the accumbens prediction channel alongside stimulus events and the other striatal regions. Its modeled magnitude does not measure pleasure or dopamine.
One method, seven channels.

At each timestep, the workflow takes the mean of the absolute model predictions within the selected ROI. The same calculation applies to all seven regions. This illustration explains the anatomy; it does not display a model result.

03 / OUTPUTS

What a run
makes inspectable.

These are the outputs being developed for the research workflow. This page explains their structure and anatomical context; it does not present numerical results from a run.

01
ROI × TIME

Regional time series

timestep · region · mean |prediction|

Each subcortical ROI yields a time series of summarized prediction magnitudes, aligned to the stimulus timeline.

02
GROUPED SIGNALS

Composite proxies

ROI series · grouping · composite

Related ROI series can be grouped into readable research proxies. These are model summaries, not direct measures of emotion or dopamine.

03
WINDOWS

Period comparison

window A · window B · difference

Two user-chosen periods of the same video can be compared by their predicted response magnitude, difference and ratio.

04
TIMING

Peak inspection

composite · timestep · peak

A peak table locates when each composite reaches its highest modeled value within the analyzed clip.
